Women's Health Council Project and WISE

Women's Health Council Project

The Women’s Health Council Project (WHCP) has worked since 1997 to train women to be HIV prevention peer educators for their own communities.

Participants attend a fun and exciting group training where they learn basic facts about HIV. The group sessions provide skills to so that women can learn to prevent HIV and to teach others how to protect themselves.

The WHCP has created Women in Support of Empowerment (WISE) to keep our communities of women moving forward in the fight against HIV.   WISE women are armed with HIV prevention information and are ready to take a stand for the health of their communities.

WHCP and WISE are alway looking for women who are interested in their own health and the health of their community.  If you are one of those women or you know a woman who is, call 803.779.7257 and ask to speak with the WHCP Project Coordinator or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
